September 2nd Worship: Scriptural Speed-bumps: “Take up the cross…”
This fall we confront those parts of the Bible we do not like, that make us uncomfortable, even embarrassed. Those verses which seem to be unhelpful, even hurtful. What do we do with them? We cannot ignore them, so we confront them. Come and see as we deal head on with the parts of Scripture that are speed-bumps in our faith walk. This Sunday, at 9:30 or 11:00 am, we start with the harsh reality from Jesus’ own mouth, and the command to take up our cross, if we want to receive the heavenly reward Jesus promises. The Scriptures will be opened, and hearts will be assured that we can do what Christ commands. Perhaps it is not what we always thought, but something much better.
