What a FANTASTIC Easter Sunday we had! I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the celebration of the Risen Christ last Sunday! Everything from the sunrise service with the flower cross to breakfast and the children’s egg festivities, to both services complete with beautiful flowers and special music. It was all quite glorious, indeed! A HUGE THANKS to everyone who had a part in making it happen, as well as all who participated!

On Monday, I prepped for Gwen Smith’s funeral which was Tuesday. We also held our monthly Council meeting on Monday evening, and prior to that I had the honor of being welcomed onto the Board of Directors of Love Inc, where our own David Oberg now serves as Executive Director. I am excited about this opportunity to connect the church and the community to serve people in their time of need.

As we move forward into the Easter Season (remember Easter is more than just a day!), I look forward to our upcoming series, “Easter People.” In worship and in Grow Groups, we’ll follow assigned scriptures from the Revised Common Lectionary for Year C, and we’ll spend time with some of the characters that pop up after the resurrection of Jesus. These “Easter people,” from the famous to the barely-mentioned, show us how ordinary people responded to Christ’s new life, and encourage us to imagine how we can do the same.
