Beyond The Pulpit 7.20.25

Crozetumc   -
Good Morning Crozet UMC,
I hope to see you this morning as we continue our Summer at the Movies worship series. Today’s focus movie is The Lion King so wear your safari gear, and join us as we look at the scriptural themes in this movie…don’t forget, Grow Group is at 10am, and we’ll take a closer look at the Bible passages for today.
This past week, beyond the pulpit, mostly I prayed for our youth mission team and adult volunteers serving in North Carolina. I appreciated updates from Bart and from the families who were hearing from their kids. I can’t wait to hear from the team about how they were impacted by this experience. Huge thanks to all who made this trip possible. These are formative experiences that truly make a difference in the lives of those involved.
This week, I also spent a good amount of time on administrative duties in preparation for upcoming fall ministries. Nothing too exciting, but necessary for a smooth transition from summer to fall…which seems to happen earlier and earlier these days. In particular I worked with Catherine on music and worship planning for the upcoming months. We’re in the midst of creating a drum kit riser that will be light and portable, making it possible for a quick and easy “set change” between contemporary and traditional worship services each Sunday. I also met with leaders from IMPACT Charlottesville to prepare for our upcoming season of Justice Ministry at CUMC.
But the best part of the week was seeing our CUMC Mission Team arrive home yesterday after their week of service. Well done good and faithful servants! And Welcome Home!
