Beyond the Pulpit 7.6.25
Hello Crozet UMC
I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful Independence Day weekend! I was super excited to experience my first 4th of July in Crozet, complete with parade and fireworks! I love that we greet the community with fresh, cool water as they gather for the parade in the hot July sun. Thank you to everyone who had a part in making that happen! What a sign of genuine hospitality!
It’s been a busy week at the church, and another one of the highlights beyond the pulpit was Wednesday evening that I spent with our Praise Team for our 9AM Contemporary Worship Service. The team wanted to try some new things like rehearsing more contemporary songs for worship and rearranging the set so that they can see and hear each other better and try to create more opportunities to engage with the congregation. It was like we all turned into the stage crew! What fun we had trying new configurations for the musicians and instruments. By the end of the evening, the team was really excited by the results and can’t wait to share with you this Sunday! We hope you’ll join us!
Of note, the current setup in the Chancel is a TEMPORARY arrangement. Our ultimate plan is to add casters to the risers so that they can easily be moved to the side after the 9am contemporary service and before 11am traditional service, and also for special events like VBS! We strategically planned to test this new setup during the summer, while the Choir is on break. This way, the Choir will not be affected while the instruments stay in place for a few weeks for setup adjustments and hardware installation. We appreciate your patience and flexibility while we make our way through this transition!
