Beyond the Pulpit 9.21.25

Good Morning Crozet UMC,

Beyond the pulpit, this past week primarily consisted of meetings. Some weeks are like that!

On Monday, I met with both the LOVE INC Board and Church Council. I love the opportunity to serve in the community and in the church. As we mentioned last week in worship, we are preparing to offer one of our office spaces for rent. If you, or someone you know is interested, please reach out to someone on Church Council. Our Council is currently updating our facility use policies and fees.

On Tuesday I attended a District Clergy meeting in preparation for Charge Conference in October. I lovingly refer to this event as our “annual checkup,” where we present our goals, attendance data, and financial records to the Conference, as well as a presentation on how we are engaged in our community to nurture discipleship. All are welcome to attend on Sunday, October 19, at 3pm, at Aldersgate UMC in Charlottesville.

I’ve also been preparing to host Crozet 101, a gathering for anyone interested in learning more about Crozet UMC and our ministries. Whether you’re a life-long Methodist or new to church in general, you’re welcome! Join us for lunch in the Fellowship Hall following 11am Worship on September 28. You’ll have a chance to meet some of our leaders and hear about what makes CUMC so special. Please email our Administrative Assistant, Alexa, in the church office to let us know if you will be attending. (Childcare will be available.)

Finally, yesterday I was in Fredericksburg to officiate a wedding for a friend. One of the fun parts of ministry!
