Beyond the Pulpit 10.12.25
Good Morning CUMC!
I hope to see you this morning as we continue our worship series unpacking The Nicene Creed. Today’s focus is the line in the creed which states, “We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.” This is a great topic for today since, at the 11:00am service, we welcome one adult by baptism, one adult making their first profession of faith, and a family of five by reaffirmation of faith. It is an exciting day for sure!
Last Sunday we had perfect weather for our Blessing of the Animals at The Lodge! It was great to offer this service out in the community, to engage with our friends at The Lodge, and to bless beloved pets. See Cleo below…her humans are Kathy and Mike Micucci!
Sunday evening, I travelled to Corolla, NC, to preside at a wedding on Monday for a young woman who was five years old when I was appointed to serve my very first church. Her mom was then my Administrative Assistant for 15 years at the church I served prior to coming to Crozet. David and I joined their family for a few days of vacation following the wedding. We enjoyed walking the beach, the moon rise and the sunrise, and kayaking in Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve. Then, we returned home to spend the weekend with our oldest son, Sam, who is home from Emory & Henry University for Fall Break.
I look forward to being back in the office this coming week!
