Good Morning Crozet Family,
Last Sunday was a great day as we began our 2026 Confirmation Class with 19 students! This is my first Confirmation class at CUMC, and I am thrilled to walk with these students in their faith journey over the next few months and see what God has in store. Please join me in praying for these students. And as you see them in and around church, please encourage them and offer your love and support.
Additionally, on Tuesday evening, I joined others from Charlottesville and Albemarle County for a research meeting on neighborhood safety. We met with Michael Kochis, the Chief of Police for the City of Charlottesville along with Joseph D. Platania, Charlottesville City’s Commonwealth’s Attorney. One of my takeaways from that meeting is that, at least in the City of Charlottesville, recent data indicates that crime has decreased. However, that is not necessarily the public perception, based on the stories we’ve heard from residents. If you’d like to learn more, consider joining me and others from Crozet’s Justice Ministry at 6:30pm on March 24 at Charlottesville High School for IMPACT Charlottesville’s Nehemiah Action Assembly (doors open at 6pm and childcare is available). You don’t have to DO anything, but attend and observe. We’ll also be addressing other justice issues like affordable housing and public transportation.
Additionally last week, I participated in a variety of meetings and prepared to be away for a week of vacation with my family. I am grateful for all who are leading in my absence today. I am certain you are in good hands! See you soon!
