Beyond the Pulpit 7.26.26
This week has looked a little different for me. I’ve been battling a cold with laryngitis, which left me working from home for a few days. Thankfully, I’m on the mend! When I was up to it, I couldn’t resist stopping by the church to lend Bart a hand as he has been tirelessly preparing for this week’s Vacation Bible School. We had a great time setting up the Bible Adventures Story Station (be sure to check out the sneak peek below!), and I can honestly say that True North VBS is going to be an amazing week.
Speaking of exciting things happening around the church, I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention a wonderful meeting I had this week with our two Lay Leaders, Sandra and Joanne. Together, we’re working to refresh and relaunch Crozet UMC’s Prayer Team Ministry. We believe prayer is one of the most important ministries of the church, and we’re excited to strengthen the ways we pray with and for one another. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks as we begin sharing more about this renewed ministry and the ways you can become a vital part of our church’s ministry of prayer. If God has given you a heart for praying with and for others, we’d love to hear from you.
Finally, thank you in advance to the many volunteers, youth helpers, decorators, donors, prayer partners, and behind-the-scenes servants who are making True North VBS possible. Your generosity of time, talent, and energy is one of the reasons Vacation Bible School continues to be one of the highlights of the year at Crozet United Methodist Church. Please keep our children, families, volunteers, and leaders in your prayers this week as we discover together that when we follow Jesus—our True North—who we can always trust.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Christy
