Joseph: Model Servant of Forgiveness
This Lent we will discover those persons in Scripture who model what it means to love others, and see how they can help us grow in our ability to love others as Jesus commands. We begin with Joseph, favorite son of Jacob, who was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, unjustly imprisoned, and separated from his loved ones. Instead of harboring hatred and seeking vengeance, Joseph re-frames his suffering, and offers a perspective on redemption that is often overshadowed by his special coat. On Sunday, we can meet Joseph in a profound and powerful way. He still has much to teach those who are seeking to grow in love. Associated Scripture: Genesis 45:4-15
