Beyond the Pulpit 5.4.25
Good Morning CUMC!
I hope you’ve had a good week. This past week – beyond the pulpit – it’s been a pretty standard week including worship prep, sermon writing, preparing Grow Group lessons, meeting with staff, and a variety of tangential meetings including the Virginia Conference Clergy Compensation Task Force and the IMPACT Charlottesville Board. I also met with several church members throughout the week as well as Rev. Devon Earle, Campus Minister at the UVA Wesley Foundation, to discuss her invitation to serve on the Board for UVA Wesley…I agreed!
I was sorry to miss Crozet Avenue Christian Preschool’s Peach Palooza on Friday and the opening day for the Farmer’s Market yesterday. I was back in Midlothian packing, in anticipation of our family’s official move to Crozet over Memorial Day weekend. We appreciate your prayers as we close a chapter of nearly 19 years there.
Finally, as we consider all things “Beyond the Pulpit,” I’m excited to share with you the new vision statement for The United Methodist Church which was unveiled this past week by The Council of Bishops. You can read more about it here!
