Beyond the Pulpit 9.7.25
Hello CUMC!
We made it to September! Today we launch a new worship series, “Postcards: Past & Present.” I’ve learned that fall in the foothills brings lots of energy and excitement, especially with the changing temperatures and vibrant foliage. Perhaps you’re exploring some local venues, or maybe you’re traveling elsewhere this month. Wherever you are, send us postcards from your fall travels and activities. We will display them in the church to see where our Crozet UMC family is living out the Good News! God is with us wherever we are, and we are tied together through our faith. Stay connected this month by sending postcards to the church (PO Box 70, Crozet, VA 22932) from the places you find yourselves. Staying home this month? Send a Crozet postcard! Be the church wherever you are this fall. In worship, we’ll be looking at Postcards from Paul. Well, not actual postcards. Rather, Paul’s letters to the people of Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, and Galatia. Don’t forget when you are traveling, you can catch us online live on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am and 11:00 am EST or anytime during the week on our YouTube channel. May God guide our journey!
Thanks to all who stepped up in leadership roles while I was away last week. Speaking of journeys, we launched our youngest child and he is now off and running as a freshman at Randolph Macon College. In celebration, we journeyed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for some vacation time. We visited with friends, sat on the beach, shared delicious meals, and watched college football and US Open tennis! I also got to take a few long bike rides, put together a puzzle, read a couple of books (The Tenant, and Remarkably Bright Creatures), and start knitting a prayer shawl!
I’m back in town now and look forward to serving alongside you as we make our way into the fall here at Crozet UMC!
Below is a glimpse of the sunsets we experienced last week!
