Happy Sunday Crozet UMC!
This last week was packed with all kinds of meetings…mostly the fun kind of meetings!
In the coming weeks, you’ll learn more about the Ministry Teams that are being formed here at Crozet UMC. There will be five teams: Mission, Congregational Care, Worship, Hospitality, and Education/Faith Formation. All of our ministries will fall into one of these teams. And each team will be headed up by a couple of coordinators. This simply gives some structure to our ministries which are already in existence, and helps us identify where and how we might expand and adjust to accomplish the annual initiatives determined by Council. If all that sounds too confusing, then just know that wherever you’d like to serve, there will be a team of support waiting to help! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been meeting with folks from our Committee on Nominations and Lay Leadership as we seek to discern team coordinators and invite them to serve. If you have an interest in serving with any of these teams, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
In addition to a hospital visit, a rehab visit, a UVA Wesley Board meeting, the monthly Senior Lunch, as well as lunch with Pastor Liz at Tabor Presbyterian Church, I also met with the Activities Director at The Lodge at Old Trail, and I’m excited to share that we’ll be holding a Blessing of the Animals At The Lodge on Sunday, October 5, at 2pm. We’ll gather on the large front lawn at The Lodge (or under the portico if it’s raining). Having the service at this location allows us to go INTO the community, where we hope others will join us. We’re hoping our friends at The Lodge will bring their pets, as well as enjoy the pets who are part of the service. Mark your calendar and be sure to invite others.
I hope you’ll be able to join us this morning as we gather and continue our worship theme Postcards Past & Present. This week we learn about Paul’s message from the community at Ephesus. If you’re out and about this month, be sure to send a postcard to us at PO Box 70, and let us know what you’re grateful for!
