Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

Happy Easter!

Even as the forecast calls for clouds and rain today, do not be dismayed. We invite you to join us this Easter Sunday to celebrate the hope and joy of the resurrection with our family of faith. There is nothing quite like gathering together to proclaim that Christ is alive!

This past week has been full of life, ministry, and preparation as we journeyed toward Easter. Last Sunday, our Palm Sunday service was a joyful celebration, featuring special guests and the children of Crozet Avenue Christian Preschool singing with enthusiasm and heart. That same evening, 20 children joined us for Last Sunday Live, sharing in fellowship and fun while deepening their faith and learning about Paul in Rome.

On Monday, we were blessed by students from Western Albemarle High School who offered their time and energy to serve our community. They painted exterior fences (see image below), weeded parts of our church grounds, and helped sort and organize Grace Grocery, making a lasting impact on our neighbors in need. We also welcomed Southern Air onsite at both the church and the parsonage for preventative HVAC maintenance, including repairing a heat pump that will keep our Fellowship Hall warm and welcoming even on the coldest days.

Our Holy Week observances continued on Thursday evening with a moving service led by a variety of musicians and readers, walking us through the final hours of Jesus’ life and his sacrifice. A special moment came when Jamie Monohan shared a beautiful solo, “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us,” reminding us of the depth of God’s love in Christ. On Saturday, many volunteers gathered throughout the day to prepare for our Easter celebrations, ensuring that our campus and worship spaces are ready for this sacred day.

As we celebrate Easter morning, we encourage you to invite family, friends, and neighbors to join us in celebrating the resurrection and the hope it brings. Together, as a community of faith, we will lift our voices, share our joy, and proclaim: Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
