Beloved, Pray for Us: Pray Like Jesus
Crozetumc   -

We begin our Easter Worship series with Jesus teaching the Apostles to pray.  He explains that the attitude by which we offer our prayers sets the foundation for the prayers we offer up to God.  If we are praying for earthly recognition, then our prayers are not genuine communication with our Lord.  Such prayers lack an authenticity and reflect our human desire for power and privilege rather than a connection with our God.  Jesus goes on to share the most prayed prayer of all Christendom: the Lord’s Prayer.  It is a bold prayer that directly asks God for the things we need from food and guidance to forgiveness and strength.  This Sunday we will look with new eyes upon this time honored prayer, and consider how Jesus’ words might help to bring our prayer life into a new and profound depth of spiritual maturity.
