Epiphany
Last year on Epiphany Sunday, one of our children asked what happened to King Herod during Children’s Time. We didn’t have time to go into that, but how often do we pay attention to what happened to King Herod. His desire to protect his power and authority resulted in the deaths of innocent children as he hunted for Jesus. Mary and Joseph were forced to flee with the Christ-Child to Egypt, and only after a time, did they return to Israel to settle in Nazareth. What does this story reveal, and what can we learn about human nature’s desire for earthly power? Associated Scripture: Matthew 2:1-23
