Inspiring Saints: Saint Joan of Arc, The Patron Saint of France
Johnhilker   -

The young woman known as Joan of Arc is not just a saint but a historical person who participated in the military repulsion of the army of England’s attempt to conquer France in the Battle of Orleans during the Hundred Years’ War.  She was just thirteen when she began to have visions and step into leadership to aid France in its struggle to remain autonomous from England.  Joan convinced a monarch, the military leadership of France, and the people, that God had sent her for the salvation of France with her words and deeds.  Yet her unconventionality was also considered a threat to the establishment, including the Catholic Church, which later canonized her.  Discover how a teenager once more in the history of Christianity embodied the will of God. Associated Scripture: Psalm 68:11-19
