Lenten Series: King of the Jews
Johnhilker   -

When the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, had Jesus crucified, he had a sign placed above the head of Jesus that read: “King of the Jews.”  Was that just a taunt, or does it have a deeper, more profound significance?  How do we as modern Christians reconcile that our Lord is not just Jewish, but the King of the Jews?  As we look at the title used to mock Christ, we can see that God is redeeming even earthly attempts to humiliate our Lord by transforming a taunt into a sacred title.  Much like the first Methodists did! Associated Scripture: John 18:28-38
