Obedience and Generosity to Glorify God
God has need of nothing and so chooses to graciously give to us. Our gifts to God are about honoring and praising God, rather than meeting God’s needs. If we give out of compulsion, then we are detracting from the joy of heart-felt, and life-changing gratitude. The Apostle Paul urged the early Christians not to give for any reason but their earnest desire to pay homage to the God who had been so good to them. We should be no different. This Sunday we discovered the implicit miracle of giving to worship God: there will be an overflowing for the giver and the recipients.
