Palm Sunday: The Path to Salvation, Paved with Passion
Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week, and beginning of the end of Jesus’ earthly ministry. In the tension between a triumphant entry into the Holy City and the impending betrayal and death of Jesus, we find ourselves in celebration and sorrow. We love the joy of this day, but we fear the intense suffering of the cross on Friday. Perhaps only in this way can begin to discover what Jesus himself felt almost two thousand years ago, and what he was willing to endure for us out of the deepest, holiest love. All are invited to join in to celebrate Palm Sunday, and prepare our hearts for a holy week that will take us to the cross and the tomb, but always end with the resurrection on Easter.
