Prayers of Confession
This week we close our Advent Worship series on prayer with a prayer of confession from Daniel. Living in exile in the kingdom of Babylon, God’s faithful servant, Daniel, recognizes how human sin, including his own, has led to the displacement of God’s people, the suffering of many, and the brokenness of the covenant. Daniel’s prayer is both personal and communal, recognizing that we are both individual and part of the larger family of faith. This Sunday, you are encouraged to discover that prayer is not just a laundry list of our failures, but an opportunity to grow beyond our current self and situation into the bight and beautiful future Jesus came to make our new reality, our inheritance as Children of God.
