Prayers of Thanksgiving
Our Scripture for this Sunday’s worship is well known as the Magnificat, Mary’s words of thanksgiving for the great things God has done for her. Our prayers of thanksgiving are an acknowledgment of God’s mighty acts for us, both as the Body of Christ and as individual Christians. We do not just receive good things from God, but we reveal our gratitude through prayers that name and honor those blessings. Just as we like to receive gratitude, so too does God, and our words, silent or spoken aloud, continue to nurture our relationship with our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer God.
